Adani Energy Solutions appoints Pramath Nath as Chief People Officer
Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) has appointed Mr. Pramath Nath as its Chief People Officer with effect from July 1, 2026. He moved from Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), where he served as Chief People Officer until June 30, 2026. Mr. Nath has nearly three decades of experience across the energy, consulting, technology, retail, hospitality and pharmaceutical sectors. Mr. Samir Prakash ceased to be Chief People Officer of AESL from the close of business on July 1, 2026, following organisational restructuring.
INOX Air Products signs nitrogen supply deal with INA Solar
INOX Air Products (INOXAP) has signed a 15-year agreement with Insolation Green Energy (INA Solar), a wholly owned subsidiary of Insolation Energy Ltd, to supply ultra-high purity (UHP) nitrogen to a 4.5 GW solar cell manufacturing facility under development in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh. The company will supply UHP nitrogen at 2,400 Nm3/hour through a dedicated pipeline. INOXAP will also invest in pipeline infrastructure connecting its existing air separation unit (ASU) to the manufacturing facility. The arrangement is intended to ensure a continuous supply of high-purity nitrogen for solar cell production.
RERC clears deviations for 2,450 MW solar, 6,400 MWh BESS tender
The Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (RERC) has approved deviations from the Ministry of Power’s standard bidding guidelines for procuring Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) with energy storage systems. The approval enables Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation (RREC) to proceed with a tender for 2,450 MW of solar capacity coupled with 1,600 MW/6,400 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Pugal Solar Park in Bikaner. The Commission approved changes covering penalties, commissioning requirements, project size and post-PPA decommissioning obligations. The discovered tariff will be submitted separately to RERC for adoption under Section 63 of the Electricity Act.
Ola Electric doubles quarterly registrations to 43,719 units in Q1 FY27
Ola Electric Mobility Limited reported 43,719 vehicle registrations in Q1 FY27, up from 22,252 registrations in Q4 FY26, according to VAHAN data. The company recorded 16,144 vehicle registrations in June 2026, its highest monthly total in recent quarters. Ola Electric attributed the sequential growth to improvements in retail execution, customer demand and product availability. The company said it remains focused on expanding EV adoption through its product portfolio, battery technology, manufacturing capacity and direct-to-customer distribution network.
PGCIL reshuffles senior management with new CFO, director charge and ED promotion
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has announced a series of senior management changes effective from July 1, 2026. Shri Venkata Subrahamanyam Vallurie has assumed charge as Chief Financial Officer, while Dr. Yatindra Dwivedi has been given additional charge of Director (Finance) for three months or until a regular appointment. Shri Dharambir Kumar has been promoted to Executive Director, and Smt. Anjana Luthra has been appointed Company Secretary and Compliance Officer. Shri Ravisankar Ganesan retired as Director (Finance) and CFO on June 30, 2026.

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has appointed Smt. Sushuma Kumari as Chief General Manager (CGM), RE-Asset Management Group, with effect from June 30, 2026. The role is one level below the Chief Executive Officer, making her part of the company’s senior management. She has more than 33 years of experience in the power sector, with expertise in digital transformation of power plant operations. The company said the appointment will strengthen its renewable energy asset management capabilities.
Solarium Green reports Rs 852 crore order book as of June-end
Solarium Green Energy Limited reported an order book of Rs 852.28 crore as of June 30, 2026. Ground-mounted solar projects account for Rs 467.50 crore, while solar module supply contributes Rs 310.47 crore and other business segments Rs 74.31 crore. The company said the order mix reflects the growing contribution of utility-scale EPC projects. The portfolio spans utility-scale, government, institutional, residential, commercial and industrial projects.
Ayana, BPCL win 293 MW under MPPMCL wind tender at Rs 4.12-4.17/kWh
Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL) has awarded 293 MW under its 800 MW wind power tender. Ayana Renewable Power Private Limited secured 193 MW at Rs 4.17/kWh, while BPCL won 100 MW at Rs 4.12/kWh following the e-reverse auction concluded on June 30, 2026. The remaining capacity is yet to be allocated. The procurement supports Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO) compliance and future power requirements of Madhya Pradesh’s distribution companies.
ANDRITZ bags electro-mechanical contract for Bhutan’s 600 MW Khorlochhu project
Khorlochhu Hydro Power Limited (KHPL) has awarded the main electro-mechanical contract for Bhutan’s 600 MW Khorlochhu hydropower project to ANDRITZ Hydro Private Limited. The contract covers the design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of electro-mechanical works within 39 months. KHPL is a joint venture with Druk Green Power Corporation Limited (DGPC) holding 60% and Tata Power Company Ltd holding 40%. The project is expected to generate 2,524 million units annually, with commissioning targeted between 2029 and 2030.
NHPC, GUVNL sign PPAs for Sawalkot and Kamala hydro projects
NHPC Limited and Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) have signed Power Purchase Agreements for electricity from the 1,856 MW Sawalkot Hydro Electric Project in Jammu & Kashmir and the 1,720 MW Kamala Hydro Electric Project in Arunachal Pradesh. The agreements provide for power supply to GUVNL for 40 years from the Commercial Operation Date of the respective projects. Sawalkot is expected to generate about 8,000 million units annually, while Kamala is expected to generate 6,869.92 million units annually. The PPAs were signed in Vadodara on June 30, 2026.
Stakeholders split over CERC’s proposed DSM regulation changes
Industry bodies and state utilities have submitted differing views on the draft Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) (Deviation Settlement Mechanism and Related Matters) (Third Amendment) Regulations, 2026. The submissions cover proposed changes affecting Wind-Solar sellers, contract rates, payment timelines, pumped storage plants and energy storage systems. Grid India supported a uniform framework for Wind-Solar sellers, while the National Solar Energy Federation of India opposed the proposal. Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited and THDC India Limited also suggested separate amendments on grid discipline, payment provisions and deviation charges.
NLC India, Coal India secure LoAs for 600 MW solar projects in Uttar Pradesh
NLC India Limited and Coal India Limited have received separate Letters of Award from Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited (BSUL) for solar power projects at the 1,200 MW Jalaun Solar Power Park in Uttar Pradesh. NLC India Renewables Limited will develop two 300 MW projects through tariff-based competitive bidding. Coal India received an LoA for a 600 MW (2×300 MW) project at a tariff of Rs 2.73/kWh with an estimated cost of Rs 2,831.11 crore. The Coal India project is to be completed within 18 months from the signing of the Power Purchase Agreement.
RERC regulator revises RE tariff rules on storage, banking and payment discipline
The Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (RERC) has extended the renewable energy tariff control period by two years until March 31, 2028. The amendment also revises provisions related to energy storage systems, green open access, banking, payment security and renewable energy project performance norms. The regulations will take effect from April 1, 2026. RERC said the extension is intended to maintain regulatory continuity while a comprehensive tariff review is undertaken separately.
Karnataka streamlines PPA renewal process for ageing renewable power projects
The Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) has introduced a streamlined framework for renewing Power Purchase Agreements for Mini-Hydro, Wind, Bagasse-based Cogeneration and Biomass-based projects completing their initial 20-year term. Developers must apply at least 90 days before expiry, while ESCOMs must decide on continued procurement before the agreement ends. Renewed PPAs will be deemed approved by the Commission, subject to dispute resolution. The framework aims to prevent payment uncertainty and uninterrupted power supply.
IREDA appoints Bijay Kumar Mohanty as interim CMD
Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) has entrusted Dr Bijay Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance) and Chief Financial Officer, with the additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director from July 1, 2026. The appointment follows the superannuation of Shri Pradip Kumar Das on June 30, 2026. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy assigned the additional charge for three months or until a regular appointment is made. Dr Mohanty assumed charge on July 1, 2026.
