NLC India, Coal India secure LoAs for 600 MW solar projects in Uttar Pradesh

NLC India Limited and Coal India Limited have received separate Letters of Award (LoAs) from Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited (BSUL) for setting up 600 MW solar power projects at the Jalaun Solar Power Park in Uttar Pradesh, according to regulatory filings made on July 1, 2026.

NLC India project

NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India, has received an LoA from BSUL for the development of two 300 MW solar power projects at the 1,200 MW Jalaun Solar Power Park in Jalaun district, Uttar Pradesh.

The project has been awarded through a tariff-based competitive bidding process.

BSUL is a joint venture between NHPC Limited and the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA).

Coal India project

Coal India has also received an LoA from BSUL for setting up a 600 MW (2×300 MW) solar power project at the Jalaun Solar Power Park.

The project was awarded at a tariff of Rs 2.73/kWh and has an estimated cost of Rs 2,831.11 crore.

The company said the project is to be executed within 18 months from the signing of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
