Pace Digitek secures 3 GWh LFP cell supply, expands BESS capacity

Pace Digitek Limited, through Lineage Power Private Limited, has signed a Master Supply Agreement with Guangzhou Rongjie Energy Technology Co., Ltd. for the supply of 3 GWh of 314Ah lithium iron phosphate battery cells. The company said the agreement will strengthen supply chain stability and support utility-scale and commercial and industrial Battery Energy Storage System projects. Lineage Power plans to increase its manufacturing capacity from 2.5 GWh to 5 GWh in July 2026 and further expand it to 10 GWh in the third quarter of FY2027. Pace Digitek also reported an executable order book of Rs 1,13,379 million and an executable energy pipeline of 5.32 GWh.

StarlinePS enters solar cell manufacturing with Rs 160 crore stake in Celloraa Energy

StarlinePS Enterprises Limited has approved the acquisition of a 50% stake in Celloraa Energy Private Limited for a total cash consideration of Rs 160 crore. The company will acquire 25,000 equity shares at Rs 64,000 per share, with the transaction to be completed in one or more tranches within 12 months, subject to customary conditions precedent, regulatory approvals and shareholder approval. StarlinePS stated that the acquisition is not a related-party transaction and will be executed on an arm’s-length basis. The acquisition marks the company’s entry into the renewable energy manufacturing sector.

Sterling and Wilson to build one of Egypt’s largest solar projects at 1,000 MWac

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited has secured an order worth approximately USD 560 million for the 1,000 MWac West Minya Solar Power Project in Egypt. The project includes a 600 MWh Battery Energy Storage System and will be executed through a 50:50 joint venture with Hassan Allam Construction. The scope covers engineering, procurement and construction, including photovoltaic facilities, battery storage, grid interconnection and transmission works. The company said this is its third GW-scale order secured in the past nine months.

SJVN signs PPAs with GUVNL for 658 MW hydropower projects

SJVN Limited has signed Power Purchase Agreements with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited for three hydroelectric projects in Himachal Pradesh with a combined capacity of 658 MW. The agreements cover the 66 MW Dhaulasidh Hydro Electric Project, the 210 MW Luhri Stage-I Hydro Electric Project and the 382 MW Sunni Dam Hydro Electric Project. SJVN said the agreements strengthen its portfolio of long-term power sale arrangements. The projects are being developed at estimated costs of Rs 6.87 billion, Rs 18.10 billion and Rs 30 billion, respectively.

 

KEC International bags Rs 1,754 crore orders across T&D and cables

KEC International Limited has secured new orders worth Rs 1,754 crore across its transmission and distribution and cables and conductors businesses. The orders include the company’s largest-ever transmission tower supply order from the United States along with repeat orders in the Americas. It also secured multiple cable and conductor orders across domestic and international markets. The company said its year-to-date order intake has now crossed Rs 4,000 crore.

PGCIL acquires Kakinada I Transmission SPV for green hydrogen corridor

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has acquired Kakinada I Transmission Limited, the special purpose vehicle for a green hydrogen transmission project in Andhra Pradesh. The project will be implemented under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding route on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer basis. It involves a new 765/400 kV gas-insulated substation with STATCOM and associated transmission lines at an estimated cost of Rs 1,618 crore. POWERGRID acquired a 100% stake in the SPV for approximately Rs 20.50 crore.

CEA issues guidelines to reduce geological risks in hydropower projects

The Central Electricity Authority has issued new guidelines to minimise geological uncertainty in hydropower tunnel construction. The framework introduces advanced investigation methods, Geotechnical Baseline Reports, probabilistic risk modelling and real-time monitoring techniques across project stages. The guidelines also recommend revised budget allocations for advanced geological investigations. According to the CEA, the measures aim to reduce project delays, cost overruns and contractual disputes.

India-made 2.6 MWh BESS container from Jupiter Wagons reaches US market

Jupiter Wagons Limited has exported a fully integrated 2.6 MWh Battery Energy Storage System container to the United States through JEM Energy. The company said the product was designed, manufactured and integrated entirely in-house using facilities in Bengaluru and Indore. It added that it has dedicated production lines with an annual manufacturing capacity of 5,500 units. JEM Energy has also deployed multiple BESS systems across India and is developing a 1 MWh container in a 10-foot configuration.

Power Ministry issues draft National Electricity Data Sharing Framework 2026

The Ministry of Power has issued the draft National Electricity Data Sharing Framework, 2026, and invited stakeholder comments until July 21, 2026. The framework proposes establishing a National Electricity Data Centre and National Electricity Data Portal to standardise data sharing across the power sector. It introduces public and access-controlled datasets, data governance requirements and cybersecurity provisions. The ministry said the framework is intended to improve transparency, interoperability and AI-driven innovation.

NHPC signs PPA with NDMC for 800 MW Parbati-II project

NHPC Limited has signed a 40-year Power Purchase Agreement with the New Delhi Municipal Council for electricity from the 800 MW Parbati Hydro Electric Project Stage-II. The agreement covers power supply from the project’s Commercial Operation Date. The run-of-the-river project in Himachal Pradesh has an investment of Rs 98.97 billion and is designed to generate about 3,108.66 million units annually. The agreement follows another PPA signed with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited for the 260 MW Dulhasti Stage-II project.

MP inaugurates 500 MW Neemuch and 450 MW Shajapur solar parks, clocks India’s lowest tariff at Rs 2.14/unit

Madhya Pradesh has inaugurated the 500 MW Neemuch Solar Park and the 450 MW Shajapur Solar Park. The Neemuch project, developed at Rs 2,080 crore, achieved a tariff of Rs 2.14 per unit, which the state government said is India’s lowest solar tariff. The state also highlighted its renewable energy capacity of more than 12,018 MW and ongoing expansion through the 550 MW Agar Solar Park. Officials announced additional investments in solar manufacturing and pumped storage projects.

Delhi Cabinet approves EV Policy 2026 with incentives till 2030

The Delhi Cabinet has approved the Electric Vehicle Policy 2026, which will remain in force from July 1, 2026, until March 31, 2030, subject to the Lieutenant Governor’s approval. The policy provides purchase incentives, tax exemptions and scrappage benefits for electric vehicles while excluding hybrids. It also outlines a phased transition towards electric vehicle registrations and targets 32,000 charging points across the city. The government estimates benefits and investments of around Rs 15,000 crore over four years.

Serentica to invest Rs 1 lakh crore in Rajasthan renewable projects

Serentica Renewables has announced plans to invest Rs 1 lakh crore in Rajasthan, with more than Rs 10,000 crore already invested. The company currently has more than 2,500 MW of operational renewable capacity and another 3,000 MW under construction. It will commission a 200 MWh Battery Energy Storage System in Bikaner, followed by an additional 800 MWh phase. Serentica also plans further expansion of its Fatehgarh solar platform with battery storage.

Sunsol Cleantech targets 2 GW of solar deployment by 2030

Sunsol Cleantech has announced plans to support the deployment of more than 2 GW of solar capacity across India by 2030. The company intends to execute 5,000 rooftop, captive, open-access and utility-scale projects. It said the platform will provide engineering, procurement and construction services alongside digital analytics and operational capabilities. The company also highlighted the Sunkonnect Group’s delivery of more than 5 GW of renewable energy projects since 2019.

Waaree Solar Americas bags 236 MW solar module supply order

Waaree Energies Limited said its subsidiary, Waaree Solar Americas Inc., has secured an order to supply 236.22 MW of solar modules. Deliveries are scheduled during the first and second quarters of FY2027–28. The company described the contract as a one-time commercial transaction with no related-party involvement. The announcement follows clarification regarding a U.S. Customs determination involving solar module exports.

Suzlon’s tallest wind turbine S175 bags first order within two weeks of launch

Suzlon Group has received its first commercial order for the newly launched S175 (5.0 MW) wind turbine from Sunsure Energy. The 105 MW project in Karnataka includes the supply, erection, commissioning and maintenance of 21 turbines. The order increases Sunsure Energy’s cumulative capacity awarded to Suzlon to 400.8 MW. Suzlon said the S175 is India’s tallest and most powerful wind turbine.

Kalpataru secures Rs 2,957 crore orders across T&D, buildings and water

Kalpataru Projects International Limited and its subsidiaries have secured new orders worth approximately Rs 2,957 crore. The contracts span the power transmission and distribution, buildings and factories, and water business segments. The company also entered the Middle East water infrastructure market through a joint venture or consortium. KPIL said the new wins strengthen its diversified order book and business pipeline.

TARIL wins over Rs 1,000 crore transformer order from POWERGRID

Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Limited has secured an order worth over Rs 1,000 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited. The contract covers the manufacture and supply of transformers of various ratings along with associated works and will be executed over 30 months. TARIL said the order is among its largest project wins and strengthens its order book. The company said the contract supports India’s expanding transmission network.

Ceigall signs PPA for 220 MW solar and BESS project in Madhya Pradesh

Ceigall India Limited has signed a Power Purchase Agreement through its subsidiary for a 220 MW solar and Battery Energy Storage System project in Madhya Pradesh. The tariff-based project is valued at approximately Rs 1,700 crore, including GST, with a discovered tariff of Rs 2.70 per kWh. Construction is scheduled over 18 months, followed by a 25-year operational period. The company said the project expands its renewable energy business.

NTPC commissions final 41.6 MW of 176 MW Ramagundam solar project

NTPC Limited has declared commercial operation of the final 41.6 MW capacity of its 176 MW Solar Photovoltaic project at Ramagundam, Telangana. The project was commissioned in three phases, with the last phase becoming operational on June 30, 2026. Following completion, the NTPC Group’s installed capacity has increased to 90,899 MW, while commercial capacity has reached 89,819 MW.

Australia approves 4.2 GW of energy storage under Capacity Investment Scheme

The Australian Government has approved 15 projects under Capacity Investment Scheme Tender 8, adding 4.2 GW of dispatchable capacity and 16.1 GWh of energy storage. The projects are expected to unlock AUD 6 billion in private investment. Queensland accounted for the largest share of approved capacity with seven projects totalling 2,150 MW/8,413 MWh. The government also outlined upcoming tenders for additional generation and storage capacity.

Germany awards 2.98 GW in wind and solar-storage auctions

Germany’s Federal Network Agency has announced the results of its May 2026 onshore wind and solar-plus-storage auctions. The onshore wind tender awarded 2,499 MW across 270 projects, while the innovation auction awarded 482 MW across 27 hybrid solar and battery projects. Both tenders were significantly oversubscribed. The agency reported continued strong developer interest and lower average award prices in the wind auction.
