Rajesh Power Services wins Rs 362 crore PGVCL underground cabling contract
Rajesh Power Services Limited has secured a turnkey contract worth Rs 362.82 crore, inclusive of taxes, from Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited (PGVCL) for strengthening power distribution infrastructure in Gujarat.
The contract covers the conversion of existing 11 kV HT lines and LT distribution networks, including consumer service lines, into underground cable networks integrated with a ring main system. The works will be carried out in the Jamnagar City-2 Division of the Jamnagar Circle under PGVCL.
The project is scheduled to be completed within 24 months.
Project scope
The contract was awarded in the normal course of business and forms part of PGVCL’s ongoing efforts to modernise the distribution network through underground cabling and ring main systems.
Rajesh Power Services stated that the order is domestic in nature. It also confirmed that neither its promoters, promoter group nor group companies have any interest in the awarding entity and that the contract does not constitute a related party transaction.
Order pipeline
The latest award further expands Rajesh Power Services’ order book and follows two major contracts secured by the company last month.
The company had received a turnkey order worth approximately Rs 75.05 crore from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (RVPNL) for the construction of a 132/33 kV Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) at Pal, Jodhpur, along with associated transmission line works.
Earlier in the same month, Rajesh Power Services also secured a turnkey contract from PGVCL for execution of works under the utility’s System Improvement (SI) Scheme in Gujarat.
Rajesh Power Services provides power infrastructure solutions, including turnkey contracting services for power distribution and transmission networks.
