RMC Switchgears secures over Rs 336 crore in utility orders from Gujarat and Telangana

RMC Switchgears Limited has secured multiple contracts worth more than Rs 336 crore from Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited (PGVCL) and the Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited, further strengthening its order book.

The company has received 12 Letters of Award (LOAs) from PGVCL with a combined value of Rs 333.79 crore for executing underground power distribution infrastructure projects in Gujarat. Separately, it has won an order worth Rs 2.44 crore from the Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited for the supply of LT distribution boxes.

Gujarat projects

The PGVCL contracts cover the conversion of existing 11 kV HT lines and LT distribution networks into underground cable networks integrated with ring main systems across various subdivisions in the Bhavnagar and Anjar circles of Gujarat.

The turnkey projects also include Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping, Geo Urja mapping and asset tagging under the State Infrastructure Scheme.

Each contract is to be executed within 12 to 18 months, with work scheduled to commence within 45 days.

Telangana order

In Telangana, RMC Switchgears has secured an LOA valued at Rs 2.44 crore from the Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited for the supply of LT distribution boxes.

The order has an execution period of 12 months.

Order book

The company stated that both contracts are domestic in nature and clarified that neither its promoters, promoter group nor group companies have any interest in the awarding entities. It also confirmed that the contracts do not constitute related party transactions.

The latest awards add to RMC Switchgears’ order pipeline. Last month, the company secured a Letter of Award worth Rs 23.64 crore for the deployment of off-grid DC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems across Maharashtra.

RMC Switchgears manufactures and supplies switchgear and electrical equipment for power distribution utilities and infrastructure projects across India.
