Ceigall India wins Punjab BESS projects worth Rs 375 crore

Ceigall India Limited has secured two battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Punjab from Punjab State Power Corporation Limited through tariff-based global competitive bidding conducted via e-reverse auction.

The larger project involves the development of 100 MW BESS capacity at an estimated cost of around Rs 250 crore, with an approved tariff of Rs 3,44,000 per MW per month. The second project covers 50 MW capacity with an estimated value of approximately Rs 125 crore and a tariff of Rs 2.99 per kWh.

The combined value of the two projects is around Rs 375 crore.

Both projects are scheduled to be executed within 18 months, followed by a 12-year operational period under a long-term Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement from the scheduled commercial operation date.

The contracts strengthen Ceigall India’s presence in the renewable energy and power transmission sector, which the company identified as a major growth segment during FY2025-26.

For FY2025-26, Ceigall India reported consolidated revenue of Rs 40,224 million, reflecting a 17.1% year-on-year increase. The renewable energy segment accounted for 19.19% of the company’s total order book during the year.
