L&T secures Middle East substation EPC orders
Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) has secured multiple engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) orders for extra-high voltage substations in the Middle East through its Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) business vertical.
The scope of work includes construction of one 380 kV substation and two 132 kV substations. According to the company, the projects are intended to strengthen grid infrastructure, support reliable electricity supply to key load centres and reduce congestion in existing transmission networks amid rising power demand.
L&T stated that the contracts have been awarded on a turnkey basis and carry stringent project delivery timelines.
The latest win adds to L&T PT&D’s growing Middle East pipeline. In February 2026, the vertical had secured turnkey orders for five substations and over 250 kilometres of transmission lines across three countries, with voltage levels up to 500 kV.Â
The company’s PT&D business provides integrated EPC solutions covering transmission and distribution networks, smart grid systems, last-mile electrification and digital energy infrastructure. The vertical serves utilities, renewable energy developers, industrial customers and infrastructure projects across more than 30 countries, including markets in the Middle East, Africa, North America, South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) regions.Â
The Energy Projects segment, which includes PT&D, reported a 56% increase in order inflows to Rs 1,36,921 crore in FY26, contributing to L&T’s consolidated order book of Rs 7,40,327 crore.Â
