STEAG Energy wins Rs 1,437 crore O&M contract from Vedanta
STEAG Energy Services (India) Private Limited, a wholly-owned step-down subsidiary of Bluspring Enterprises Limited, has secured a contract from Vedanta Aluminium Metal Limited for the comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&M) of a 1,215 MW captive power plant. The contract has an estimated aggregate value of Rs 1,437.17 crore, excluding applicable taxes.
The contract covers the operation and maintenance of a captive power plant comprising nine generating units of 135 MW each.
The agreement, including additional services, has an estimated aggregate value of Rs 1,437.17 crore, plus applicable taxes, and will remain in force for five years from August 1, 2026.
The company stated that the order is domestic in nature and confirmed that neither its promoter, promoter group nor group companies have any interest in the entity awarding the contract. It also said the contract does not constitute a related party transaction.
The latest order follows two contract extensions awarded to STEAG Energy by Vedanta Group companies, announced last week. Those extensions, covering operations and maintenance services, have a combined estimated value of Rs 1,626.28 crore, excluding applicable taxes.
