PM Modi inaugurates 140 MWp solar project in Maharashtra

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated Sunstream Green Energy’s 140 MWp solar power project in Maharashtra. The launch formed part of 2,458 MW of renewable energy capacity unveiled across the country.

Alongside the inauguration, Sunstream Green Energy announced plans to develop a 1 GW portfolio of operating renewable energy assets within the next 18 to 24 months. The company currently has 500 MW in its pipeline, of which 250 MW is operational and 250 MW is under construction.

Sunstream Green Energy was founded in 2019 by Bhadra Kanaiya and is backed by Lighthouse Trust, a Singapore-based growth fund focused on emerging markets. According to the company, its focus is on supplying distributed renewable power to utility and corporate and industrial customers.

The company operates 250 MW of commissioned capacity and another 250 MW under execution
