NTPC commissions final unit of 300 MW solar project in Bikaner

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, commenced commercial operations for the last 18.32 MW capacity of its 300 MW solar power project in Bikaner, Rajasthan, on March 1, 2025.
With this, the entire 300 MW project has been commissioned under the 923 MW Grid-Connected Solar Power Project (Tranche-II) of the Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) Scheme.
The 923 MW solar project is being developed under the 12,000 MW CPSU Scheme Phase-II, with viability gap funding (VGF) support for self-use or supply to Union and state governments and government entities.
The projects, built on a build, own, and operate (BOO) basis, are located in Rajasthan—Nokhra (161 MW), Shimbhoo ka Burj (300 MW), Fatehgarh (296 MW), and Devikot (90 MW)—as well as in Gujarat at Kawas (56 MW) and Gandhar (20 MW).
