Natrinai Ventures commissions 75 MW substation in Tamil Nadu
Natrinai Ventures Limited has commissioned a 75 MW, 110/33 kV pooling substation at Pudukkottai in Tamil Nadu to support power evacuation from its solar assets in the region and strengthen renewable energy transmission infrastructure.
The substation has been connected to the Athanakottai 110/33 to 11 kV substation for integration with the state grid. According to the company, the facility will improve power evacuation and transmission reliability for renewable energy projects while also supporting rising industrial and commercial electricity demand in the state.
The newly commissioned facility is the company’s fourth operational pooling substation in Tamil Nadu. The company stated that the project was completed within planned operational timelines. Â
The newly commissioned project adds to the company’s growing transmission and substation portfolio built since its entry into the energy sector in 2021. The company has established three 110/33 KV pooling substations in Tamil Nadu supporting the evacuation of 25 MW, 50 MW and 100 MW solar capacity, respectively. These substations are connected to the Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation Limited (TANTRANSCO) grid at the 110 KV level. The company also commissioned a 2 MW solar power plant in Theni district in 2024. In 2025, it received ISO 9001:2015 certification covering Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of solar plants, grid connectivity substations, and operation and maintenance services.
Natrinai Ventures is also preparing to launch an initial public offering (IPO) worth Rs 133 crore to support capacity expansion, project development and working capital requirements. The company converted from a private limited entity to a public limited company in September 2024 ahead of the planned public issue.
The commissioning reflects broader trends in India’s power sector, where private sector participation in transmission infrastructure is increasing alongside rapid renewable energy capacity growth.
