Orient Solar has announced plans to increase its production capacity from 800 MW to 2 GW by mid-2025.
This expansion involves an investment of Rs 1.30 billion, covering capital expenditure, land, and building costs.
The enhanced capacity will primarily support utility-scale solar projects (65%), with the remaining 35% allocated to commercial and industrial rooftop solar projects, as well as solar street lights and pumps.
Scatec ASA and Aeolus SA, part of Toyota Tsusho Group, have partnered to develop 120 MW of solar projects in Tunisia. The Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has simplified compliance requirements for renewable energy projects. Solar module manufacturing units, solar and wind power projects, and mini hydel projects under 25 MW are now exempt from obtaining Environmental Clearance (EC) and Consent to Establish (CTE).
