NTPC Limited has commenced operations of Unit 3 (660 MW) of the Barh Super Thermal Power Project, Stage-I (3×660 MW), located in Bihar.
With this, NTPC’s total installed and commercial capacity has increased to 82,080 MW.
In a related development, M/s Anand Kumar Singhania has emerged as the lowest (L1) bidder for the construction of a 150-metre reinforced cement concrete (RCC) single flue chimney for Unit 2. The company quoted Rs 230 million in response to the tender floated by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) in January 2025.
The Barh project is being implemented in two stages in the Patna district. Stage I involves three units of 660 MW each, with an investment of Rs 213.12 billion. Stage-II includes two units of 660 MW each, with an investment of Rs 82.39 billion.
