NCT clears three interregional transmission projects worth Rs 38.4 billion

The National Committee on Transmission (NCT), in its latest meeting, recommended two interstate transmission system (ISTS) projects to the Ministry of Power (MoP) for final clearance. These projects will be implemented under the tariff based competitive bidding (TBCB) route.

The first scheme is Inter-Regional Strengthening between SR Grid and ER Grid, with an estimated cost of Rs 27.1 billion. PFC Consulting Limited (PFCCL) has been appointed as the bid process coordinator (BPC) for this project.

The second is Inter-Regional Strengthening between SR Grid and WR Grid, with an estimated cost of Rs 10.07 billion. REC Power Distribution Company Limited (REC PDCL) will serve as the BPC for this scheme.

In the same meeting, NCT approved one additional project under the regulated tariff mechanism (RTM) mode. The scheme is titled Augmentation of 2×500 MVA (7th & 8th), 400/220 kV ICTs along with 220 kV Sectionalizer bay (1 set), 220 kV BC (1 No.) bay and 220 kV TBC (1 No.) bay at Bikaner-IV PS. The estimated cost is Rs 1.22 billion. Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has been allocated the project under RTM.
