PM Modi lays foundation for SJVN’s 200 MW solar project at Khavda

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually laid the foundation stone of SJVN’s 200 MW solar power project at Khavda Solar Park in Gujarat on 20 September 2025.

The project is part of Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited’s (GUVNL) Phase XVII scheme and will be located in the Khavda Solar Park being developed by Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) in Kachchh district. Power will be supplied to GUVNL for 25 years at a tariff of Rs 2.88 per unit.

With an estimated cost of Rs 866.8 crore, the project is expected to generate 504.92 million units in its first year and 11,620 million units over 25 years. It is projected to avoid about 569,250 tonnes of carbon emissions over the same period. Commissioning is scheduled for 31 December 2026.
