Author: PPD Team Date: August 18, 2025

Tata Power Renewables, a subsidiary of Tata Power, has launched its ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ campaign in Pune, along with a new scheme titled ‘Own a Rooftop Solar System’.

The initiative is aligned with the PM Surya Ghar Yojana and aims to expand rooftop solar adoption across India. Tata Power CEO and MD Dr Praveer Sinha said the company is targeting at least six lakh rooftop installations nationwide by the end of the year. In Maharashtra, the goal is to add 800 MW of rooftop capacity in the next three years.

As of July 2025, Tata Power Solaroof has installed 775 MWp rooftop solar capacity in Maharashtra, serving 27,910 customers. In Pune, the company operates 200 MW and plans to add 250 MW more within three years.

The new scheme, officials said, allows customers to pay Rs 1,947—symbolic of India’s Independence year—and own a rooftop system. It includes financing options with nearly the full system cost as a loan, flexible repayment terms of up to 60 months, affordable EMIs, and complimentary solar insurance for one year.
