RECPDCL transfers Jalna transmission SPV to MSETCL
REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, has transferred its entire shareholding in Jalna Power Transmission Limited to Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL), the successful bidder selected through the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process.
The transfer, completed on June 12, 2026, comprises 50,000 equity shares at par value along with all associated assets and liabilities. MSETCL does not belong to the promoter or promoter group of REC Limited.
The consideration received from the sale was Rs 3,21,57,839, inclusive of taxes, covering professional fees and expense reimbursements. With effect from June 12, 2026, Jalna Power Transmission Limited has ceased to be a subsidiary of RECPDCL and REC Limited.
This comes on the same day as POWERGRID being declared the successful bidder for the “Transmission system for proposed Green Hydrogen / Green Ammonia projects in Kakinada area (Phase-I)” ISTS scheme in Andhra Pradesh.
Project details
In September 2025, RECPDCL, acting as the bid process coordinator, issued the request for proposal (RFP) for the project. The scope includes establishment of a 400/132 kV substation at Jalna with three 315 MVA transformers and a 125 MVAr bus reactor.
The project also includes loop-in loop-out (LILO) of 400 kV Aurangabad lines at Jalna, new 132 kV double-circuit lines to Jalna MIDC, Partur, Ghansawangi, and Utwad substations, and LILO of the 132 kV Jalna–Nagewadi line.
Future provisions have also been planned for additional transformer capacity and extra high voltage (EHV) consumer connectivity. The scheduled commercial operation date is 24 months from the effective date.
