Sunsure Energy has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with JAKSON Engineering Limited to supply solar power to the company’s corporate office in Noida and its manufacturing facility in Greater Noida.
Under the 4.7 MWp agreement, Sunsure will deliver 7.28 million units of solar power annually. The supply is projected to cover around 80% of the Noida office’s conventional energy needs and up to 40% at the Greater Noida plant.
JAKSON described the tie-up as part of the JAKSON Group’s wider sustainability push. Gagan Chanana, Joint Managing Director and CEO of JAKSON Solar Modules and Cells Business, said the partnership reflects the group’s view that clean energy integration is central to its business, not merely a compliance target. He added that the deal aligns with the government’s push toward energy independence through renewables.
For Sunsure, the JAKSON deal is the latest in a run of C&I wins. The company recently signed long-term solar PPAs with Daeseung Autoparts India and Ilgahng Automotive, two South Korea-based Daeseung Group companies with manufacturing facilities in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, drawing power from Sunsure’s 75 MW plant in Ilayangudi.
The deal also follows Sunsure’s Rs 606 crore debt raise, in which RBL Bank came in as a new lender alongside existing financier Aseem Infrastructure Finance Limited. That financing backs over 242 MWp of solar capacity serving C&I customers across Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, the same state where the JAKSON facilities are located.
The JAKSON agreement also feeds into what Sunsure calls its “UP Shakti” mission, a focused effort to decarbonise Uttar Pradesh’s industrial and manufacturing base. The company currently serves C&I customers across sectors, including FMCG, data centres, cement, steel, pharmaceuticals, and ceramics. Its client list includes UltraTech, Bharat Forge, Dabur, Kajaria Ceramics, Haldiram’s, Jindal Stainless, and APL Apollo, among others.
Shashank Sharma, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Sunsure Energy, said a partnership with a company as embedded in India’s energy ecosystem as JAKSON reflects the growing conviction within the industry that clean power adoption is no longer optional, and that collective momentum of this kind is what will move India closer to energy independence while setting a benchmark in industrial decarbonisation.
