The project, located in Chausa, Buxar district, Bihar, is being developed by SJVN Thermal Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of SJVN. It comprises two units of 660 MW each, utilising supercritical technology to achieve higher efficiency and lower emissions.

With an investment of Rs 13,756.56 crore, the project is expected to generate 9,828.72 million units of electricity annually. About 85 per cent of this power will be supplied to Bihar.

The company stated that the project will help meet Bihar’s power demand, ease peak shortages, and support economic growth in the region.
