Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited has completed its VGF tender for 500 MW or 2,000 MWh of standalone battery storage. Six developers won capacity under build own operate agreements paired with 15 year power purchase contracts.
The tender was issued in August 2025. It produced a uniform tariff of Rs 285000 per MW per month. Patanjali Ayurved secured the largest share with 250 MW or 1000 MWh. The remaining 250 MW was split among five companies. Ultravibrant Solar Energy, Rama Reflection India, Mecpower Solutions, Bhagwati Lacto Vegetarian Exports and Diwakar Renewable and Infra each received 50 MW or 200 MWh.
The result adds to a steady fall in storage tariffs. The discovered rate of Rs 2.85 per kWh is lower than earlier outcomes, including the Rs 3.59 per kWh tariff in the SJVN and Uttar Pradesh tender and the earlier Rs 2.87 per kWh for a solar plus storage project with a four hour cycle in Rajasthan.
This award follows an RVUNL tender for 1 GW or 2 GWh of storage. That process reached a tariff of about Rs 1.775 lakh per MW per month. It went to eleven bidders, including Stockwell Solar, Oswal Cables and Patanjali Renewables.
