Power Grid elevates three executives to Executive Director roles

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has announced the promotion of three Chief General Managers to the position of Executive Director (ED), classified as Senior Management Personnel one level below the Board of Directors, with effect from May 15, 2026.

Shri Jiten Das has been appointed as Executive Director (CTUIL). He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Utkal University and a Master of Engineering from BIT Mesra. He has more than three decades of experience across AC and DC substation maintenance, asset management, power system engineering, and project execution. During his career at POWERGRID, he has handled assignments in Patna, Pusauli, Vadodara, Kolkata, and Gurgaon.

Shri Rajiv Gandhi has been appointed as Executive Director (Engineering-Survey). He is a graduate in Electrical Engineering and also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from Management Development Institute (MDI). He has over 30 years of experience in transmission line engineering, tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) processes, project monitoring, and survey management. He has previously served at the corporate office in Gurgaon, regional headquarters in Lucknow, and Mohanlal Ganj.

Shri Sanjay Kumar Gupta has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for International Business. He is an Electrical Engineering graduate and has completed advanced management programmes from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), XLRI Xavier School of Management, and MDI. He brings more than 30 years of experience in corporate planning, international business, and AC substation operations. His earlier assignments include corporate planning in Gurgaon, Seoni substation operations, and regional headquarters in Secunderabad.

The company stated that the tenure of the appointments will be governed by POWERGRID’s service rules. It also confirmed that there are no disclosed inter-se relationships between the appointees and the company’s Board of Directors.
