KPI Green Energy appoints Rajesh Shrivastava as Whole-Time Director

KPI Green Energy Limited has appointed Rajesh Shrivastava as Additional Director and Whole-Time Director and proposed the re-appointment of Venu Birappa as Independent Director for a second term, subject to shareholder approval.

The decisions were approved by the company’s Board of Directors at its meeting held on May 15, 2026, following recommendations from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

Appointment of Rajesh Shrivastava

Rajesh Shrivastava has been appointed as Additional Director and Whole-Time Director for a five-year term effective May 15, 2026. According to the company, he brings nearly 37 years of experience across the power, infrastructure, and renewable energy sectors.

The filing stated that Shrivastava has been associated with more than 30 GW of power projects across conventional and renewable energy segments, including over 10 GW of renewable energy projects currently under development and execution.

His previous assignments include roles as President and Business Head – Renewable Energy Development at Reliance New Energy, Chief Executive Officer of Aditya Birla Renewables, and Chief Operating Officer of Adani Green Energy Limited. He has also held senior positions at Toshiba JSW Power Systems, Lanco Solar, and NTPC Limited.

Shrivastava holds a Gold Medal in Civil Engineering and an M.Tech in Structures from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and has completed executive management studies at INSEAD Singapore.

The company stated that he has no disclosed relationship with any existing director of KPI Green Energy.

Re-appointment of Venu Birappa

The Board has also recommended the re-appointment of Venu Birappa as an Independent Director for a second consecutive five-year term, effective August 3, 2026.

Birappa has close to four decades of experience in the power sector, covering regulatory, legal, financial, commercial, and technical areas related to transmission, system operations, and distribution.

She previously served as Executive Engineer (Regulatory and Commerce) at Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited (GETCO) until July 2021. During her tenure, she represented GETCO before the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC), Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (APTEL), various High Courts, and the Supreme Court of India.

Both appointments remain subject to shareholder approval.
