CTUIL invites applications for reallocation of vacated GNA connectivity in Southern Region
The Central Transmission Utility of India Limited (CTUIL) has invited applications from eligible entities for the reallocation of vacated connectivity margins at pooling stations in the Southern Region under Regulation 11C of the General Network Access (GNA) Regulations, 2022. Applications will be accepted until August 19, 2026, and the allocation exercise is scheduled for August 21, 2026. The available capacity includes 300 MW at Ananthapuram-II (220 kV), 250 MW at Bidar (220 kV) and 226 MW at Ananthapuram (400 kV). An additional 13.2 MW at Ananthapuram-II is not eligible for reallocation as it is below the 50 MW threshold. The vacancies arose following the exit of Orion Hybren Pvt. Ltd., Purvah Green, Renew Vikram Shakti Pvt. Ltd. and Welspun Narmada Pvt. Ltd. between June 2025 and June 2026.
Ola Electric partners with Axis Energy for up to 20 GWh BESS rollout by 2032
Ola Electric Mobility Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Axis Energy to jointly evaluate the deployment of up to 20 GWh of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) by 2032. The agreement is the first large-scale partnership for Ola Mahashakti, the company’s upcoming energy storage platform for commercial, industrial and utility-scale applications, scheduled for launch on August 15. Under the MoU, the companies will explore BESS deployment for Axis Energy’s renewable energy projects, which include more than 3,750 MW with grid approvals in Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan and an additional pipeline of about 3,500 MW. Ola Electric said Mahashakti is being developed using a vertically integrated approach covering cell technology, manufacturing and system engineering.
Sunkind secures 250 MWp distributed open access solar EPC orders
Sunkind India Limited has secured multiple distributed open access solar Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) orders with a combined capacity of around 250 MWp till July 2026. The projects cover commercial and industrial (C&I) customers across the steel, packaging, manufacturing and independent power producer (IPP) segments in Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Tamil Nadu. The company said the projects strengthen its order book and expand its execution footprint across India. Sunkind has also expanded beyond conventional EPC services into mounting structure manufacturing, renewable asset management and integrated clean energy solutions.
NCLT approves merger of nine Adani Power subsidiaries
The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Ahmedabad Bench, has approved the Scheme of Amalgamation of nine wholly-owned subsidiaries with Adani Power Limited. The order was pronounced on August 4, 2026, with the appointed date for the amalgamation set as April 1, 2025, subject to completion of specified conditions. The proposed merger of Vidarbha Industries Power Limited (VIPL), the tenth subsidiary in the restructuring plan, remains pending before the NCLT Mumbai Bench. The tribunal also directed Adani Power to comply with statutory filing requirements, complete pending assessments and payments within one year, and pay Rs. 20,000 as fees to the Official Liquidator.
Pace Digitek reports 51.3% revenue growth in Q1 FY27; order book crosses Rs 10,800 crore
Pace Digitek Limited reported revenue from operations of Rs 555.4 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, up 51.3% year-on-year, while Profit After Tax (PAT) increased 14.3% to Rs 62.5 crore. The company ended the period with an executable order book of Rs 10,803.3 crore as of August 5, 2026, including Rs 8,453 crore in the Energy segment and Rs 2,350.3 crore in Telecom & ICT. During the quarter, it delivered 90 BESS containers and, after the quarter, operationalised an additional 2.5 GWh BESS manufacturing line, taking total installed capacity to 5 GWh. It also entered into an OEM partnership with NEC XON Systems Proprietary Limited and signed a strategic cooperation agreement with MEGMEET Electrical India.
Waaree Renewable Technologies secures 210 MWp solar EPC contract
Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited (WRTL) has secured a turnkey Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract for a 210 MWp (150 MWac) grid-connected ground-mount solar project from Solaris Horizon Energy Private Limited (SHEPL). The order was received on August 5, 2026, and includes two years of operation and maintenance (O&M) services, with completion scheduled during FY 2027-28. SHEPL is a step-down subsidiary of Waaree Energies Limited, making the contract a related party transaction undertaken on an arm’s length basis. WRTL will undertake the complete development of the project, including engineering, procurement, construction and O&M.
GE Vernova T&D India reports 38% revenue growth in Q1 FY27
GE Vernova T&D India Limited reported revenue of Rs 1,840 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, up 38% from Rs 1,330 crore a year earlier. Profit After Tax (PAT) increased 25% year-on-year to Rs 360 crore, while order bookings declined 30% to Rs 1,140 crore. The company secured domestic and international orders across transformers, GIS, AIS, Grid Automation and instrument transformers, and commissioned multiple transmission assets in India and neighbouring markets. It also announced continued investment in manufacturing capabilities across HVDC, transformers, reactors, GIS and other transmission equipment.
PGCIL approves Rs 856 crore HTLS upgrade for two Tamil Nadu 400 kV lines
The Committee of Directors on Investment on Projects of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has approved an investment of Rs 856.94 crore for reconductoring the Tirunelveli–Udumalpet and Pugalur–Madurai 400 kV double-circuit transmission lines in Tamil Nadu. The approval was granted on August 5, 2026, with commissioning targeted within 24 months from project allocation and completion by February 11, 2028. The project will replace existing conductors with High Temperature Low Sag (HTLS) conductors to increase transmission capacity while using existing tower infrastructure. The upgrade follows another Tamil Nadu transmission strengthening investment approved by PGCIL in June 2026.
U-Solar wins Rs 127 crore EPC contract for 20 MW floating solar project
U-Solar Clean Energy Solutions Private Limited has secured a Rs 127.47 crore Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract for a 20 MW floating solar photovoltaic (PV) project at Maroda Reservoir-II in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh. The contract was awarded by NTPC-SAIL Power Company Limited (NSPCL) on August 3, 2026, and is scheduled for completion within one year. U-Solar emerged as the lowest bidder based on an evaluated rate of Rs 2.90 crore per million units (MU), supported by estimated annual electricity generation of 43.90 MU. The scope includes engineering, design, installation, testing, commissioning and three years of operation and maintenance (O&M).
SECI eyes geothermal power in Andaman & Nicobar Islands with new EOI
The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has invited Expressions of Interest (EoIs) for geothermal resource assessment, exploration and potential power plant development in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The initiative supports implementation of the National Policy on Geothermal Energy notified by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) in September 2025. The proposed programme will cover geological investigations, exploratory drilling, resource validation and, subject to successful confirmation, development of a 5 MW to 20 MW geothermal power plant. The deadline for EoI submissions is September 18, 2026, with a pre-submission meeting scheduled for August 17, 2026.
