CTUIL invites applications for reallocation of vacated GNA connectivity in Southern Region
The Central Transmission Utility of India Limited (CTUIL) has invited applications from eligible entities for the reallocation of vacated connectivity margins at pooling stations in the Southern Region under Regulation 11C of the General Network Access (GNA) Regulations, 2022. The available capacity has become vacant following the surrender of connectivity by multiple entities at pooling stations in the Ananthapur and Bidar clusters.
Applications for the reallocation process will be accepted until August 19, 2026, while the allocation exercise is scheduled for August 21, 2026.
Vacated capacity
The capacity available for reallocation includes 300 MW at Ananthapuram-II (220 kV), 250 MW at Bidar (220 kV) and 226 MW at Ananthapuram (400 kV).
An additional 13.2 MW has also become available at Ananthapuram-II (220 kV). However, as the vacant margin is below the 50 MW threshold prescribed under the detailed procedure, it is not eligible for reallocation.
The vacancies arose following the exit of Orion Hybren Pvt. Ltd., Purvah Green, Renew Vikram Shakti Pvt. Ltd. and Welspun Narmada Pvt. Ltd. from their connectivity allocations between June 2025 and June 2026.
Regulatory mechanism
The reallocation is being carried out under Regulation 11C of the GNA Regulations, 2022, which provides a framework for transferring vacated connectivity margins to eligible entities. The mechanism is intended to improve utilisation of the interstate transmission network by making unused connectivity available for fresh allocation.
