OIL Green Energy, NRL sign MoU for renewable power supply

OIL Green Energy Limited (OGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Oil India Limited (OIL), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) to collaborate on renewable energy development, procurement, and supply.
The agreement was signed on April 20, 2026, with a focus on meeting group captive energy requirements across the organisations. The MoU was signed by Rajeev Kumar Tamuli, General Manager of OGEL, and Rupam Kumar Sarma, General Manager (Technical Services) of NRL.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Chairman and Managing Director of OIL, who also serves as Chairman of NRL, along with the Managing Director of NRL, Directors of both OIL and NRL, the Chief Executive Officer of OGEL, and other senior officials.
The collaboration is aimed at strengthening the integration of renewable energy within the operational framework of OIL and its group entities. It is expected to support the expansion and diversification of OGEL’s renewable energy portfolio while addressing captive power requirements.
The initiative aligns with OIL’s target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2040 and supports the Government of India’s broader goal of net-zero emissions by 2070.
