NTPC Green commissions 64.76 MW at Khavda
NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has declared the commercial operation of 64.76 MW, the first part capacity of the 225 MW GSECL RE Park, Khavda Solar PV Project in Gujarat. The capacity became operational with effect from 00:00 hours on July 24, 2026.
The commissioning marks another addition to NGEL’s growing renewable energy portfolio and takes the total installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy group to 10,786.56 MW.
The 64.76 MW capacity forms part of the 225 MW solar project being developed at Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) Renewable Energy Park in Khavda, one of India’s largest renewable energy development zones.
Financial performance
The commissioning comes alongside a period of sustained financial growth for NGEL.
The company reported revenue from operations of Rs 1,106.86 crore in June 2026, representing an increase of 21.28% from Rs 912.63 crore in the March 2026 quarter. On a year-on-year basis, revenue rose 62.72% from Rs 680.21 crore reported in June 2025.
Net profit for June 2026 stood at Rs 304.84 crore, up 54.61% quarter-on-quarter from Rs 197.17 crore in March 2026. Compared to Rs 220.48 crore in June 2025, profit increased by 38.26%.
Recovery and expansion
NGEL’s financial performance reflects a continued recovery from a relatively subdued period during FY25 and early FY26.
For the quarter ended December 2025, the company had reported revenue from operations of Rs 635.29 crore, up 25.8% year-on-year from Rs 505.08 crore. Total income during the quarter stood at Rs 684.22 crore, compared with Rs 581.46 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.
For the nine months ended December 2025, total income increased 22.1% year-on-year to Rs 2,092.63 crore, up from Rs 1,714.20 crore.
On a consolidated basis, NGEL reported a net profit of Rs 521 crore for FY26. Quarterly performance showed a sharp sequential improvement, with consolidated net profit increasing to Rs 197 crore in Q4 FY26 from Rs 17 crore in Q3 FY26. However, the Q4 FY26 figure remained below the Rs 233 crore reported during Q4 FY25.
The latest commissioning at Khavda adds to NGEL’s expanding renewable portfolio as the company continues to scale capacity additions across solar and other clean energy technologies.
