Ten companies chase NHPC’s Jalaun solar power evacuation contract
NHPC Limited has received bids from 10 companies for developing the electrical infrastructure needed to evacuate power from a 1,200 MW solar power park in Jalaun district, Uttar Pradesh.
The tender covers the construction of three 33/400 kV pooling substations, which will aggregate electricity generated within the solar park before it is transferred to higher-voltage transmission networks. Technical bids were opened on 10 August 2026, and all 10 bids have been admitted for technical evaluation.
The companies that submitted bids are Lumino Industries Limited, Jakson Limited, Alfanar Power Private Limited, Capital Electech Pvt Ltd, R S Infra Projects Private Limited, Piscesia Power Transmission Private Limited, SPML Infra Limited, Hartek Power Private Limited, Amara Raja Infra Private Limited and Salasar Techno Engineering Limited.
Evacuation system
The work package involves three pooling substations with a 33/400 kV configuration. These substations will collect power from multiple solar generating units within the 1,200 MW park and provide the interface for its evacuation into higher-voltage transmission networks.
The tender was issued through an open competitive process, with bids submitted through the Central Public Procurement (CPP) portal.
The transmission infrastructure is a key part of the Jalaun solar park because the 1,200 MW generation capacity requires dedicated facilities to move electricity from the project to the wider grid.
The project forms part of Uttar Pradesh’s expansion of utility-scale renewable energy capacity, with the Jalaun solar park expected to add a substantial block of solar generation capacity to the state’s renewable energy base.
