Kalpa Power secures 286 MWp solar project in Madhya Pradesh

Kalpa Power Private Limited has secured a 286 MWp utility-scale solar project in Madhya Pradesh, adding to its growing portfolio of large-scale renewable energy projects in India.

The project comes as Madhya Pradesh has significantly expanded its renewable energy capacity over the past 12 years. The state’s renewable energy capacity has increased nearly 25-fold, from 438 MW to over 11,000 MW.

For Kalpa Power, the project adds to its utility-scale portfolio and supports its focus on developing large-scale renewable energy projects across India.

In July, Kalpa Power signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Lineage Power Private Limited (LPPL), a subsidiary of Pace Digitek Limited, to secure 100 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity.

The company is targeting an expansion of its overall renewable energy portfolio to 5 GW by 2030.
