JAKEDA awards 45.75 MW rooftop solar projects in J&K
The Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA) has awarded 45.75 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar capacity across multiple government departments in Jammu and Kashmir.Â
The projects were allocated under the Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model, with discovered tariffs ranging from Rs 4.19/kWh to Rs 5.27/kWh. The tender was originally issued in October 2025 for a total aggregated capacity of 152.75 MW across government buildings in the Union Territory.
The largest allocation went to a consortium led by Photon Surya Urja and Horizon Renewable Power, which secured a 36 MW project for the Health & Medical Education Department in Jammu at a tariff of Rs 4.19/kWh. Fujiyama Power Systems won 4 MW capacity for the Skill Development Department in Kashmir with a tariff of Rs 5.25/kWh. Kruti Power Projects secured several smaller capacities across the Housing, Urban Development, and Power Development departments, with tariffs ranging between Rs 4.42/kWh and Rs 5.27/kWh.
The scope of the projects includes survey, engineering, financing, installation, commissioning, and long-term operation and maintenance (O&M). Developers are required to maintain a Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) of 13.5%. The tender also mandates the use of components compliant with the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM).
