HiTHIUM Launches RMB 13 Billion LDES Industrial Park

Shandong HiTHIUM has held the production rollout ceremony for what it describes as the world’s first long-duration energy storage (LDES) integrated industrial park at its Heze Base in Heze Luxi New Area, China. The facility is positioned as the company’s dedicated intelligent manufacturing base for LDES and marks a strategic step in its plans to expand integrated manufacturing and large-scale delivery capabilities globally.

The Heze Base is designed as a whole-industry-chain facility covering LFP battery cell manufacturing, module and system integration, new material production and upstream raw material processing. The project integrates activities across materials, cells and energy storage systems within a single industrial park.

Industrial scale

The Shandong Heze project covers a planned area of approximately 80 hectares and represents a total investment of over RMB 13 billion across the entire industrial chain. HiTHIUM said the facility is intended to serve as the core of an LDES industrial cluster, bringing together upstream and downstream partners across the generation-transmission-distribution-utilization application ecosystem.

Wang Pengcheng, HiTHIUM’s Co-founder and President, said the production rollout marks a new phase for the Heze Base in scalable manufacturing, market-oriented delivery and ecosystem development.

“First, industrial leadership – building a national benchmark industrial cluster for LDES. With the Heze LDES integrated industrial park as the ‘core engine’, HiTHIUM will gather upstream and downstream partners to cover the full ‘generation-transmission-distribution-utilization’ application ecosystem.”

He added, “Second, product leadership – defining full-scenario LDES solutions. HiTHIUM has taken the lead in defining and deploying LDES solutions. Leveraging the Base’s scaled capacity, HiTHIUM will fully unleash the manufacturing potential of thousand-ampere-hour large-capacity products, ushering the global lithium-based LDES industry into an era of large-scale, full-fledged delivery.”

The third focus, according to Wang, is manufacturing efficiency. “Third, production efficiency leadership – building global competitiveness through integrated intelligent manufacturing. Fully equipped with independently developed fifth-generation intelligent manufacturing lines, the Base enables end-to-end synergistic integration across core materials, cell manufacturing, system integration, and global delivery, ensuring our ability to deliver large-scale, high-efficiency, and high-quality products to global markets.”

Manufacturing technology

The Heze Base’s integrated intelligent manufacturing system covers the production chain from raw materials through to prefabricated container delivery. It uses HiTHIUM’s fifth-generation production lines, which the company says are the industry’s first to exceed 15 GWh in single-line capacity.

Compared with the previous generation, the new production lines are designed to reduce floor space per GWh by 50%, production manpower by 58% and manufacturing energy consumption by 13%, while improving efficiency by 200%.

The facility has an automation rate exceeding 95% and more than 1,000 quality control checkpoints. AI-powered visual inspection is used as part of the quality-control system.

HiTHIUM said the combination of integrated manufacturing, automation and AI-based inspection is intended to support lower-cost operations, higher delivery efficiency and product quality as the company expands LDES production for global markets.
