PFC’s Q1 net profit steady at Rs 8,998 crore, loan book crosses Rs 11.6 lakh crore

Power Finance Corporation (PFC) reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 8,998 crore for Q1 FY27, broadly unchanged from Rs 8,981 crore in Q1 FY26. On a standalone basis, net profit increased 5.4% to Rs 4,745 crore from Rs 4,515 crore a year earlier. The board also approved an interim dividend of Rs 3.90 per equity share as PFC’s consolidated loan portfolio expanded to Rs 11.60 lakh crore.

Financial performance

PFC’s consolidated revenue stood at approximately Rs 28,527 crore during Q1 FY27, reflecting steady operations during the quarter. The company’s standalone net profit rose to Rs 4,745 crore, compared with Rs 4,515 crore in Q1 FY26.

The consolidated loan book increased to Rs 11.60 lakh crore, reinforcing PFC’s position as a major source of financing for the power sector. Its renewable energy loan portfolio stood at Rs 1.63 lakh crore, maintaining the company’s position as India’s top renewable financier.

Strategic position

PFC is progressing with its structural consolidation plans, including the proposed merger scheme with REC Limited. The company also maintained stable asset quality during the quarter, with provisioning remaining stable and non-performing asset (NPA) levels described as benign.

The board’s approval of the Rs 3.90 per share interim dividend adds to the financial performance reported for Q1 FY27, while the expansion of the loan book and renewable portfolio indicates continued focus on power and clean energy financing.
