Evren secures 750 MW renewable PPA with NTPC
Evren, the renewable energy platform established by Brookfield in partnership with Axis Energy, has signed a 750 MW Renewable Energy Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NTPC Limited, further expanding its utility-scale renewable energy portfolio. The agreement, one of the largest renewable energy PPAs in India by capacity, covers solar, wind and battery energy storage projects to be developed across Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan.
The projects are expected to generate around 2.5 billion units of clean energy annually once operational and reduce nearly 1.8 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
Pipeline
The new PPA adds to Evren’s 11 GW renewable energy development pipeline, which includes utility-scale solar, wind and battery energy storage projects. Of this, more than 3.5 GW is currently under construction.
The company said the agreement strengthens its renewable energy portfolio and supports the delivery of reliable power through a mix of generation and energy storage assets.
Suman Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of Evren, said, “With an 11 GW pipeline portfolio, including over 3.5 GW under construction across solar, wind and battery energy storage, we are well positioned to deliver reliable, sustainable power at scale and serve as a long-term partner to customers.”
