ENGIE North America has signed an environmental attributes purchase agreement (EAPA) with Meta to supply 260MW of renewable energy from its Sypert Branch solar project near Austin, Texas.Â
The solar facility, located close to Meta’s data centre in Temple, will deliver 100% of its output to Meta, advancing the tech giant’s renewable energy portfolio, which already exceeds 12GW.
Set to begin operations in late 2025, Sypert Branch will contribute to ENGIE’s 8GW North American renewable portfolio. The project will create over 300 construction jobs and generate more than $69 million in tax revenue, including approximately $45 million for two local school districts.
This agreement marks nearly 1GW of signed PPAs for ENGIE in the US this year. Last month, ENGIE also signed a PPA with Google for its Chillingham solar project in Bell County, Texas.
