CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd. has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a power transformers package for NTPC Limited’s 3×800 MW Telangana Super Thermal Power Project Stage-II.

According to the financial bids opened on June 17, 2026, CG Power quoted Rs 425.26 crore for the contract, compared to Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited’s (BHEL) bid of Rs 457.01 crore.

Scope of work

The tender covers the supply, transportation, installation, testing and commissioning of power transformers for the Telangana project. The package includes plant and equipment, type tests, mandatory spares, transportation, installation and commissioning works.

For the plant and equipment portion, including type tests and mandatory spares, CG Power quoted Rs 341.35 crore against BHEL’s Rs 374.31 crore. Under local transportation and logistics, CG Power quoted Rs 13.93 crore, higher than BHEL’s Rs 6.80 crore. For installation, testing and commissioning, CG Power quoted Rs 5.10 crore compared to BHEL’s Rs 6.18 crore. The GST component quoted by CG Power stood at Rs 64.87 crore, while BHEL quoted Rs 69.71 crore.

The lower equipment and commissioning costs enabled CG Power to secure the lowest overall bid despite its higher logistics cost.

While CG Power has been identified as the L1 bidder in the financial evaluation, the contract award remains subject to NTPC’s technical and commercial evaluation process.
