Ceigall India wins bid for Gujarat’s Lakadia, Jamnagar transmission project
Ceigall India Limited (CIL) has emerged as the lowest bidder for the “Common Transmission System for evacuation of power from Lakadia (Phase-II: 7.5 GW), Jam Khambhaliya (Phase-II: 5.5 GW) and Jamnagar (Phase-I: 1 GW) – Part-B” project. The bid was secured through an e-reverse auction conducted under tariff-based global competitive bidding by REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL).
CIL company quoted an annual transmission charge of Rs 6,086.70 million for the 35-year operational period. The project has a work execution period of 36 months.
Transmission system
The project is designed to evacuate renewable power from three zones in Gujarat: Lakadia Phase II, with 7.5 GW of capacity; Jam Khambhaliya Phase II, with 5.5 GW; and Jamnagar Phase I, with 1 GW.
The transmission system will include a 765/400 kV air-insulated substation (AIS) near Nasik. The substation will comprise 3×1500 MVA at the 765 kV level and 3×500 MVA at the 400/220 kV level.
The scope also includes approximately 300 km of high-capacity transmission lines. This includes a 765 kV double-circuit line between South Olpad (GIS) and Nasik, as well as a 400 kV double-circuit line between Nasik and Pimpalgaon (MSETCL).
Qualified bidders
Four other companies qualified at the project’s technical bid stage. These included Adani Energy Solutions Limited, Dilip Buildcon Limited, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited and Resonia Limited. All bidders participated as sole bidders with 100% equity contribution.
Jam Khambhaliya Jamnagar Power Transmission Limited has been established as the project’s special purpose vehicle (SPV).
