AMPIN commissions 45 MWp group captive solar project in Odisha
AMPIN Energy Transition has commissioned a 45 MWp solar project in Odisha, marking its second consecutive group captive commercial and industrial (C&I) open access installation under the Odisha Renewable Energy Policy 2022 (OREP-22). The project is located in Patnagarh.
AMPIN stated it executed the project across the full value chain, from policy alignment to commissioning. Delivered on a turnkey basis, the scope covered land acquisition, construction, and grid connectivity through a line-in-line-out (LILO) arrangement.
The power generated will be supplied to a portfolio of corporate consumers, including Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, Parle Products, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Arya Iron and Steel Company Private Limited, and Shree Ganesh Metaliks. The project is expected to offset around 50% of these entities’ conventional grid electricity consumption.
According to AMPIN, the shift to solar power is projected to reduce electricity costs for offtakers by 25–30%, while supporting their sustainability targets. The project is also estimated to avoid approximately 57,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually, equivalent to the impact of planting about 2.7 million trees each year.
AMPIN indicated it is expanding its presence in Odisha, with another 45 MWp under construction and an additional 50 MWp in development. The company is targeting a total portfolio of around 200 MWp in the state.
The expansion is supported by Odisha’s policy framework, including provisions under the Green Energy Open Access (GEOA) regulations and energy banking mechanisms aimed at facilitating renewable energy adoption. Shortly prior to this announcement, AMPIN had commissioned a 60 MWp group captive open access solar project at Kantabanji under OREP-22, supplying power to C&I consumers through connectivity at the 132 kV Kantabanji substation.
