Adani Energy Solutions raises Rs 3,500 crore through QIP

Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) has raised Rs 3,500 crore through a Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) of equity shares, with participation from domestic institutional investors including SBI Large Cap Fund and Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund.

The issue opened on July 27, 2026, and closed on July 30, 2026. AESL allotted 2,16,71,826 equity shares with a face value of Rs 10 each at an issue price of Rs 1,615 per share, including a premium of Rs 1,605 per share.

The issue price represented a discount of Rs 83.15, or 4.90%, to the floor price of Rs 1,698.15 per share. The discount was within the limit permitted under the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) Issue of Capital and Disclosure Requirements (ICDR) Regulations.

Institutional allocation

Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund received 49,53,560 shares across nine funds, accounting for 22.86% of the total QIP. SBI Large Cap Fund was allotted 11,14,551 shares, representing 5.14% of the issue. Both were among the investors allotted more than 5% of the issue size.

AESL’s QIP Committee approved the allotment at its meeting on July 30, 2026. The meeting commenced at 10:25 PM and concluded at 10:40 PM.

Share capital

Following the allotment, AESL’s paid-up equity share capital increased from Rs 1,201.28 crore, comprising 1,20,12,82,642 equity shares, to Rs 1,222.95 crore, comprising 1,22,29,54,468 equity shares.

The transaction resulted in the issuance of 2,16,71,826 new equity shares and raised a total of Rs 3,500 crore for the company.
