Juniper Green reports record Rs 324 crore quarterly income

Juniper Green Energy Limited reported its highest-ever quarterly total income of Rs 324 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, up 79% year-on-year, following its largest quarterly renewable capacity addition of 601 MWp.

The company commissioned 458 MWp of solar and 143 MW of wind capacity during Q1 FY27. It also commissioned approximately 400 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity, taking its cumulative operational BESS capacity to 503 MWh.

Financial performance

Juniper Green Energy’s EBITDA rose 86% year-on-year to Rs 294 crore, while the EBITDA margin expanded by 300 basis points to 91%, supported by operating leverage from its larger commissioned portfolio.

Profit After Tax (PAT) increased 54% to Rs 33 crore, while Cash PAT rose 50% to Rs 108 crore. Operating income grew 81% to Rs 291 crore, with operating EBITDA of Rs 261 crore and an operating EBITDA margin of 90%.

The company’s Capacity Utilisation Factor (CUF) increased to 30.2% in Q1 FY27 from 28.2% in the corresponding quarter last year. Generation rose 72% year-on-year to 944 million units, driven by capacity additions.

New awards

Juniper Green Energy has secured additional projects since the quarter ended. It signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SJVN Limited for a 50 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project at a tariff of Rs 4.25/kWh.

The company also received a Letter of Award for the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) FDRE Round-the-Clock (Thermal Mimic) tender for 870 MWp of planned capacity and 2,200 MWh of BESS, against a contracted capacity of 230 MW, at a tariff of Rs 5.26/kWh.

It also secured a 50 MW wind project from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) at a tariff of Rs 3.51/kWh.

The company has commissioned India’s first FDRE project under the SJVN FDRE tender.

Financial position

Juniper Green Energy’s total capital expenditure stood at Rs 16,303 crore as of June 30, 2026, including Rs 1,183 crore incurred during Q1 FY27. Net debt stood at Rs 11,217 crore, including Rs 7,183 crore for the operational portfolio.

The company raised Rs 1,800 crore in primary funds through its Initial Public Offering (IPO) in August 2026, taking its post-IPO net worth to approximately Rs 5,200 crore. The weighted average cost of debt for the operational portfolio is 8.58% per annum.

As of June 30, operational renewable energy capacity stood at 2,409 MWp. A further 167 MW of wind capacity commissioned after the quarter-end took total operational capacity to 2,575 MWp as of the announcement date.

Juniper Green Energy’s total portfolio stood at 11,216 MWp of renewable energy capacity and 8,989 MWh of BESS capacity as of the announcement date, covering operational, under-construction, contracted and awarded projects.

The company said 98% of its portfolio is contracted with off-takers rated ‘A’ or above, while 98% is secured through long-term PPAs, typically with a tenure of 25 years.
