Reliance NU Suntech Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reliance Power Limited, signed a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) on May 2, 2025.
The agreement covers the development of 930 MW of Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) connected solar power capacity, along with a 465 MW/1,860 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), awarded under Tranche-XVII.
Reliance NU Suntech had secured the project in December 2024 by quoting a tariff of Rs 3.53 per kWh. The bidding process was part of SECI’s July 2024 tender for 2,000 MW of ISTS-connected solar projects with 1,000 MW/4,000 MWh of energy storage, to be developed on a build, own, and operate (BOO) basis.
The project will include the development of a dedicated transmission network up to the delivery point. It is expected to be commissioned within 24 months from the date of PPA signing, with an estimated investment of Rs 100 billion.
