NTPC Green commissions first 50.4 MW of Vanki Wind Energy Project
NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has declared the commercial operation of the first part capacity of its Vanki Wind Energy Project in Gujarat. The company has also announced the issuance of Rs 2,500 crore of unsecured non-convertible debentures (NCDs) through private placement.
The first part capacity of 50.4 MW at the Vanki Wind Energy Project, located at Nakhatrana in Kutch district of Gujarat, was declared commercially operational with effect from 00:00 hrs on July 8, 2026.
With the commissioning, the commercial capacity of the NGEL group has increased to 10,671.40 MW, while the group’s total installed capacity has risen to 10,721.80 MW.
NCD issue
Separately, NGEL has decided to issue unsecured non-convertible debentures worth Rs 2,500 crore on July 9, 2026, through private placement. The debentures will carry a coupon rate of 7.27% per annum and have a tenor of 10 years, maturing on July 9, 2036. The issue is the first under the approval granted by the company’s Board of Directors on May 22, 2026.
According to the company, the proceeds will be used for financing capital expenditure, including refinancing and recoupment of capital expenditure already incurred, extending financing for capital expenditure to its subsidiaries and joint ventures through inter-corporate loans, and other general corporate purposes.
