Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has received a Letter of Award (LOA) from Pune IT City Metro Rail Ltd (PITCMRL) for a 7.67 MWp rooftop solar engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) project for captive consumption.
The project will span 23 stations and the metro depot of Pune Metro Line 3, making it one of the larger rooftop solar integrations in India’s urban metro segment. The scope includes design, engineering, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning.
Once operational, the project is expected to reduce operational energy costs for metro services while improving the environmental performance of public transport infrastructure. The installation supports the broader shift towards urban renewable energy adoption.
