PFCCL establishes SPV for Kandla Green Hydrogen transmission project

PFC Consulting Limited (PFCCL) incorporated Kandla GHA Transmission Limited, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) for development of the Transmission System for supply of power to Green Hydrogen/Ammonia manufacturing potential in Kandla area of Gujarat (Phase-I: 3 GW) on November 28, 2024.
The project includes the establishment of a 765/400 kV gas-insulated substation (GIS) at Kandla, which will feature provisions for future capacity expansion. It will also involve the construction of a 765 kV double-circuit transmission line between Kandla and Halvad, with additional advanced voltage control equipment such as ±400 MVAr STATCOM and switchable reactors to ensure grid stability and efficient power transmission.
PFCCL, as the Bid Process Coordinator (BPC), will oversee the selection of a Transmission Service Provider (TSP) through international competitive bidding. The project will be executed on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis, with completion scheduled within 36 months of the effective date.
