WAPCOS Limited has been awarded a Letter of Award (LoA) worth Rs 2.3 million for consultancy services to analyze potential pumped storage project (PSP) sites in Uttar Pradesh.
The contract follows the Request for Proposal (RfP) issued by Invest UP (formerly Udyog Bandhu) in July 2024.
The analysis will cover PSP sites in Chitrakoot Dham, Jhansi, Varanasi, and Vindhyachal divisions.
Key parameters for evaluation include a minimum capacity of 500 MW, six-hour peaking capacity, configuration details (unit size, fixed/variable speed), open/closed loop systems, hydrological considerations, power evacuation distance, water source assessment, indicative CAPEX, cycle efficiency, land requirements, and reservoir specifications, among others.
