Vayona Energy has signed its first turbine supply agreement in India with Oyster Renewable Energy for a 64.8 MW wind power project in Kadapa district, Andhra Pradesh. The contract follows the company’s acquisition from Siemens Gamesa and marks its entry into the Indian market.
Under the agreement, Vayona Energy will supply 18 SG 3.6-145 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 64.8 MW. The scope includes a long-term operations and maintenance (O&M) agreement. The project will be developed in Kadapa, expanding Oyster Renewable Energy’s presence in southern India.
Vayona Energy stated that the project supports its plan to expand onshore wind solutions across India and Sri Lanka, supported by its manufacturing infrastructure and technology portfolio.
Prashant Jain, Executive Vice Chairman of Vayona Energy, said the company has secured a customer order book exceeding 1 GW and maintains an O&M portfolio of approximately 7 GW. He stated that the Oyster Renewable Energy order reflects customer confidence in the company’s products and capabilities and reiterated its focus on strengthening its position in India with optimised offerings.
Siddharth Bhatia, Managing Director of Oyster Renewable Energy, said the 64.8 MW project represents the company’s first and largest development in Andhra Pradesh. He stated that Vayona Energy was selected for its technical capabilities and manufacturing base, particularly its 3.6 MW turbines suited to the site’s wind conditions. He added that the partnership aligns with the ‘Make in India’ approach and supports the delivery of power to commercial and industrial (C&I) consumers.
Vayona Energy said key turbine components will be manufactured and assembled at its Mamandur facility near Chennai. Supply for the project is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of calendar year 2026.
Since introducing its 3X platform in India, the company’s order intake has crossed 3.6 GW, with installations exceeding 2 GW as of December 2025, according to the company.
