On May 27, 2025, the Union Government inaugurated 266 MW of cumulative solar photovoltaic (PV) power projects developed by Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL). These projects are located at various substations of Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation (GETCO) across the state.
The largest of the inaugurated projects is a 210 MW grid-connected solar PV plant at GETCO substations in Babarzar, Jamnagar district. Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) executed the project on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis.
Two other projects include an 11 MW solar PV plant at Jambudiya Vidi in Morbi district and a 10 MW solar plant at Manjal in Kutch district. These were developed on an EPC basis by Prozeal Green Energy Private Limited and Kosol Energie Private Limited, respectively. Both projects are part of GSECL’s broader plan to develop 112 MW of solar PV projects ranging from 10 MW to 50 MW across GETCO substations in Morbi, Bhavnagar, and Kutch.
Also inaugurated was a 35 MW (44 MWp) grid-connected solar PV project spread across 87 hectares near GETCO substations at Lakadiya in Kutch. Madhav Infra Projects Private Limited developed the project on an EPC basis.
These installations aim to expand Gujarat’s renewable energy capacity through utility-scale solar deployments across key transmission locations.
