Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) signed a 25-year power purchase agreement with NTPC Limited on April 14, 2025. The agreement covers the development of a 200 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) ISTS-connected project under Tranche-II of NTPC’s FDRE scheme.
TPREL had secured the project in March 2024 through NTPC’s Tranche-II auction by quoting a tariff of Rs 4.71 per kWh. NTPC had invited bids for 3,000 MW capacity in October 2023.
The project is expected to be commissioned within 24 months from the signing date. It will involve setting up a wind-solar hybrid system with an energy storage system (ESS) on a build, own and operate (BOO) basis. The project will be connected to the interstate transmission system (ISTS).
