REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL) has shortlisted Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL), Sterlite Power, and Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) for setting up evacuation infrastructure for hydropower projects in Himachal Pradesh under the ISTS scheme. This project, housed under Shongtong Power Transmission Ltd, follows a tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process.
The three developers have cleared the technical bid stage, and their initial price bids will soon be opened. The bidding will proceed to the e-reverse auction stage, with the final selection expected by October 14, 2024. The project will evacuate power from the 450 MW Shongtong Karcham and 150 MW Tidong hydropower projects.
Both plants are scheduled for commissioning by July 2026, with the transmission system to be completed in the same timeframe.
Additionally, RECPDCL is overseeing a similar process for SJVN’s 210-MW Luhri hydropower project, with bid submissions scheduled for October 2024.
