Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited (TPEVCSL) and VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV) have entered into an agreement to expand the use of electric trucks and buses in India, with a specific focus on the recently launched Eicher Pro X range of small commercial vehicles.

The memorandum of understanding, announced on September 29, 2025, outlines joint efforts to help fleet operators integrate electric vehicles into their operations. TPEVCSL, a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited and part of The Tata Power Company Limited, will provide charging infrastructure and customised solutions. VECV will focus on improving energy efficiency in electric trucks to meet the operational requirements of transport operators.

Both companies will work with Eicher Trucks and Buses customers to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles. The partnership aims to address concerns such as charging availability, vehicle range, and operating costs, while also enabling the deployment of additional Eicher electric vehicle models.

Tata Power has expanded its EZ Charge network to more than 1.5 lakh home chargers, over 5,500 public, semi-public and fleet charging points, and more than 1,200 e-bus charging points across 630 cities and towns. The network has more than 4 lakh registered users and installations at locations such as highways, commercial hubs, transport depots, and residential complexes.

VE Commercial Vehicles Limited, a joint venture of the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors Limited, has been operating since 2008. Its portfolio includes Eicher-branded trucks and buses sold in 40 countries, Volvo Buses India, distribution of Volvo Trucks in India, and engine manufacturing for domestic and export markets.
