Suzlon secures 250 MW wind order from Torrent Green Energy
Suzlon Group has secured a 250 MW wind energy order from Torrent Green Energy, marking the sixth collaboration between the two companies and taking their cumulative partnership to more than 1.3 GW across Gujarat, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.
Under the latest order, Suzlon will supply 76 S144 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 3.3 MW. The scope also includes grid integration and long-term operations and maintenance (AMS) services. The order takes Suzlon’s total new order intake in FY27 to 1.1 GW.

This order further strengthens our presence in Madhya Pradesh, which is emerging as an important growth market for wind energy in India.”
Andhra Pradesh plans
Separately, Suzlon Group is planning an investment of approximately Rs 10,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh to develop 1,325 MW of new wind power capacity. The investment forms part of a broader target to reach 5 GW of wind capacity in the state by 2030.
The projects will be located around Govindawada in Anantapur district’s Rayadurgam constituency and are being developed jointly with Tata Power and Waaree Energy.
Tanti described the Andhra Pradesh partnership as strategically significant, bringing together companies that have played pioneering roles in India’s renewable energy sector. The projects will use Suzlon’s existing manufacturing base in Anantapur, where the company has operated since 2004.
New production lines for S144 turbine blades at the facility are expected to be inaugurated soon by Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh.
The Ippuru plant has an annual blade manufacturing capacity of 1,260 MW, representing approximately 40% of Suzlon’s total output. Suzlon has invested Rs 12,000 crore in its Andhra Pradesh manufacturing infrastructure over the years.
Skilling programme
Suzlon is also working with the Andhra Pradesh government on a workforce skilling programme. Its Wind Energy Learning Centres in Vijayawada and Uravakonda aim to train 12,000 individuals, with a target of 25% women participation.
The announcements follow a strong quarter for Suzlon, with revenue increasing 23% year-on-year to Rs 3,819 crore on record deliveries. The company continues to have a substantial order book, including more than 1 GW from Tata Power.
