Sunora Solar has entered into a long-term purchase agreement with Hyderabad-based Bharat Enterprise to supply TOPCon G12R solar modules for a 30 MW project under the PM Kusum Yojana. The project targets commissioning within this year and involves a total investment of over Rs 100 crore in the Hyderabad region.

The modules will be supplied from Sunora Solar’s Kosamba, Gujarat facility, which forms part of its vertically integrated 3 GW module expansion plan. The project will deploy G12R modules based on N-type Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) technology, with efficiency exceeding 23% and an operational life of up to 30 years. The higher efficiency enables greater power output for the same surface area, lowering Balance of System (BOS) costs and improving project economics for developers and participating farmers.

The initiative is aligned with the PM Kusum (Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan) Yojana, a Government of India scheme aimed at promoting decentralised solar generation in rural areas. The scheme provides financial assistance and grid connectivity, allowing farmers to generate electricity for their own use and export surplus power.

The Hyderabad project is expected to support the state’s renewable energy capacity addition while contributing to emission reduction, water conservation, and local employment. The collaboration also aligns with India’s target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
